Post-Easter reflection
The disciples were behind locked doors. John tells us why: fear. They were hiding. They had seen the cross. They had heard the crowd. They knew how these stories usually ended. So they locked the door and stayed inside.
And Jesus appeared among them. Not after the door opened. Not because they were brave enough to let him in. He simply stood there. Inside the room they had sealed. And the first words out of his mouth were: "Peace be with you."
We all have locked rooms. Sealed out of fear. Fear of further loss. Fear of being seen again. Fear that what broke us before will break us again.
Jesus does not wait politely outside. He comes through the wall. And he does not come to interrogate you about why you locked it. He comes with peace.
He will eventually ask questions. He will eventually ask Peter: do you love me? But first — before everything else — peace. You do not have to unlock the room before he can enter.

Lord who passes through locked doors, You come in before I unlock it. You say the thing I most need to hear: Peace be with you. I receive that. Into the locked room. Into the specific fear. Peace. In Your Name.
