Daily Teaching
Come back tomorrow — there will be something new.
Monday, April 20, 2026
In Jerusalem, whenever Jesus sought solitude to pray, he went to a garden. Gethsemane. The mount called Olivet. The garden where the tomb was. This was not random.
In the Jewish imagination, gardens carried the memory of Eden — the place where God walked with humanity in the cool of the day, before the break. The first meeting place. The first conversation between heaven and earth.
By praying in gardens, Jesus was reentering that original landscape. Almost as if he was reclaiming territory that had been abandoned since the beginning.
The image in Genesis 3 is remarkable: God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. Not enthroned. Not manifesting in thunder. Walking. In the evening. In the garden.
This is the original image of the relationship between God and humanity: presence, intimacy, the ease of walking together in the cool of the day.
The resurrection in a garden is the answer to the expulsion from the garden. What was lost in Eden is recovered in the garden of the empty tomb. You were made for the walk in the cool of the day. It is still available.
Scripture: Genesis 3:8
✙ Prayer for the Day ✙
God who walks in gardens, I have been so busy inside buildings that I have forgotten the walk. Today I come to the garden. Not with an agenda. Not with a list. Just to walk with You in the cool of the day. In Your Name.

Every day. A rhythm of transformation.
